Shoes on the Danube

I was very moved by this memorial on the banks of the Danube. The 60 metal shoes are dedicated to the Jews that were lined up, told to remove their shoes, and then shot into the river by fascist Arrow Cross militiamen during World War II. I could not get the image out of my head for days.
